The Red Roar and the Tumbled Tower

When Mina’s block tower clatters flat, a hot red roar rushes in. With Mama close, Pip and Ponder help her hear it, hold it safely, and rebuild by choice.

The Tallest Tower Yet

Mina stacked yellow on purple, then purple on green, till the tower stood high.

Pip passed every block. Ponder checked the wide bottom. Mama watched nearby.

“One last red block,” Mina said, barely breathing. “Then it reaches the moon!”

She lifted it carefully. The tall tower trembled. The room held very still.

Clatter-Splatter-CRASH!

The red block tipped. The green block slipped. CLATTER-SPLATTER-CRASH!

Blocks bounced under chairs. One bonked Pip’s cushion. Mina’s cheeks burned hot.

A red roar rushed upward from her toes to her teeth. “I worked and it fell!”

Mama moved close calmly. “Your body is roaring. I’m right here as well.”

Ponder asked the red roar, “What are you guarding beneath all that sound?”

“It wasn’t fair!” thundered Anger. “She tried for so long, then it crashed to the ground!”

Mina squeezed both fists. “Yes. I wanted it standing. I hate that it dropped.”

Pip nodded, ears low. The roar had a reason. It wanted the hurt stopped.

Mama slid over cushions and cleared all the blocks from the stamping-feet zone.

“You may roar into pillows. You may push on the wall. No people get pushed; no blocks get thrown.”

Mina chose one red cushion. “ROOOAR!” went her voice. Pip roared from his own.

The anger stayed welcome. The people stayed safe. Mina was not alone.

Ponder planted his paws. “Breathe in through your nose. Let the hot rumble rise.”

“Now huff toward the cushion— haaaah, not at a person.” Mina tried three times.

The roar did not vanish. It changed from a thunder to a drum in her chest.

Mama said, “I still hear it. You can take longer. There’s no hurry or test.”

Words Under the Thunder

When speech felt possible, Mina told Mama, “I’m angry it broke.”

“I hear you,” said Mama. “You built with such care.” No teasing, no joke.

Pip found the last red block. Ponder gathered the others. They waited for her word.

“I’m not ready to build,” Mina decided first. So they paused their play.

A Choice After the Roar

After one quiet cuddle, Mina looked at the blocks. The drum still went bum.

“I could leave them till later. Or ask for some help. Or build something low.”

“All three choices are yours,” Mama told her warmly. “Anger needn’t choose.”

Mina picked help and low. The red roar listened. It had nothing to lose.

The Wide and Wobbly Way

Ponder spread four blocks into one wide square. “A broad bottom holds.”

Pip added a doorway. Mina placed the red block. Her fingers stayed bold.

The new tower stood shorter, with a wobble and window. Not moon-high—not yet.

Mina felt anger beside her and carefulness too. Two feelings had met.
